Maeda MC305 Mini Cranes featured in CEG

Maeda is making headlines again!

A front-page article of the August issue of Construction Equipment Guide told the story of how Steel Masters LP, a structural steel contractor, chose two Maeda MC305 mini-cranes over larger, more conventional options to complete its part of a project to renovate The Medical Towers (a historical Houston building constructed in 1956) into a new Westin Hotel.

Mark Melton, equipment manager of Steel Masters, told CEG they chose Maeda Mini Cranes because they were, “light enough to place directly on the parking garage deck but could achieve our lifting requirements of up to 6,500 pounds,” and compared to tower cranes, the MC305s, “proved to be much less expensive as well.”
